Unplugged signs off for the year

Unplugged signs off for the year

Saturday past saw the last Unplugged Night in the Lounge for this season.  We've seen a huge number of acts play there this year, with guys like Kris Platt, Tom McConnell, Craig McConnell and Luke Truman and gals like Daina Masters and the ET band just a few of the great acts to have performed here during the year.

The last one was no different and continued our run of top class performances.  First on stage we had new discovery Emma Cummings.  Emma's talent was spotted whilst playing at a pudding party last month and her multi-faceted performance kicked the night off in some style.  Switching between guitar and keyboard and using her nifty new loop system to combine the too, Emma performed a mixture of covers and her own material and we look forward to having her back in the new year.

Following on from this was a young artist whose prospects are very much on the rise.  Supported by James Toal, Francis Mitchel impressed witha  powerful voice that has already attracted interest amongst musical circles.  Again the set consisted of a blend of covers and original material, with James proving to be a perfect partner both with guitar and vocals.  These two look set to have a very bright future!

Last up on the stage was Lisburn City Elim's own James Sloan.  An uncomplicated, one man and his guitar approach worked extremely well for the young Uni student, James set consisted of mainly his own material, which is impressive in itself for a guy just starting out his journey with music.  Any nerves were quickly set aside as he laid down a marker ahead of the upcoming Unsigned Heats.

James will be in action in Coleraine on the 30th May, competing for one of the 8 spots at SM.  The action starts at 8pm in both Coleraine and Lisburn.  Not a night to miss for anyone who enjoys music!

This Saturday is a worship night here in Lisburn.  Entry will be free, so join us in bringing praise to our amazing Saviour.  8.45pm, see you then.
